Google is bring back missing out on reviews in Google Organization Profiles after repairing a bug that caused them to get erased.

Google is fixing a bug that triggered reviews to go missing from Google Business Profiles. Google verifies reviews are getting brought back. Google’s Search Liaison, Danny Sullivan, announced on Buy Twitter Verified in reply to Mike Blumenthal, who states he reported the bug a week back.

Blumenthal isn’t overemphasizing the seriousness of the bug. Evaluations are a restaurant’s bread and butter, and removing them can substantially affect revenue.

There are many threads in the Google Service Profile assist forums started by business owners who lost most or all of their evaluations.

In each thread, the business owners share one thing in common. After using Google’s recommended edits to their business profile, they all lost reviews.

Blumenthal composes in a blog post that he found Google was altering the client identification (CID) number when companies used recommended edits:

“With some digging, I discovered that in each case Google had actually changed the CID, the identifier Google uses to tie all pertinent information to a business, including evaluations. Typically the CID just changes when two listings combine or Google has hard-suspended a listing for guidelines offenses and then restored it.”

Consumer reviews are connected with a specific CID number, which indicates altering the CID gets rid of the evaluations.

That should never ever take place, especially not when applying Google’s suggested edits.

A repair is on the method, and hopefully, it’s as easy as reverting the impacted Google Company Profiles to their initial CID numbers.

We’ll update this post if Google shares extra information.
